Artist Statement: I may have a plan for the stone, but the stone also has a plan for me; we adjust and respond to each other. The landscape that reveals itself is a collaboration, the result of planned interventions and careful negotiations between artist and material.

Artist Statement: We asked shoppers at Lockwood Jackson Heights to write down their answer to this question, “Where Are You From?” and quickly had index cards filled with locations from around the globe — six continents! — and from coast to coast in the United States.
We already knew Queens, and Jackson Heights in particular, was known for its diversity, and we are proud to be part of this vibrant community.
We believe diversity makes us stronger. Immigrants are the life force of this country. All are welcome.
